Who we are

ExpaTax, based in Lisbon, Portugal. We publish Portuguese tax information for expats and are developing a filing service for 2027. For anything in this policy, email hello@expataxpt.com.

What we collect

• Information you submit through an available contact, assessment or order form, including your tax year and general situation.
• Your email address, name, and an optional WhatsApp number if you give one.
• Your email address if you request tax-guide updates. A request being stored does not guarantee that update delivery is active.
• Order or engagement details if you use an existing service route or have an agreed engagement.
• Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel, which use cookies and collect IP addresses and basic device information.

Why we collect it

We use it to respond to requests, administer any existing order or engagement, deliver updates you requested, and understand which pages bring people to the site so we can improve them.

Where it lives

Assessment and update-request submissions are stored in Netlify Forms. Email lives in Google Workspace. Analytics data sits with Google and Meta under their own terms.

Legal basis

Consent when you submit a form or accept analytics cookies; legitimate interests when we answer a request, improve the site, or keep records connected to an existing order or engagement; and contractual necessity where an engagement has been agreed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or object to how we use it. Email hello@expataxpt.com and we will handle it. No forms, no hoops.

Retention

We delete your data on request. Otherwise we keep it while it is still relevant: an open assessment, an active order, or a filing we may need to reference for you.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone beyond the services named above.

Cookies

The only cookies on this site are analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel. Nothing else.
