What we do

ExpaTax prepares Portuguese tax returns, the Modelo 3, for expats. Three packages, always at these prices: €79 / €149 / €300.

• Prepared, €79: we prepare the full Modelo 3 from your answers. You file it yourself.
• Signed & filed, €149: our certified accountant (contabilista certificado) reviews and signs off, and we file it for you.
• Complex & priority, €300: everything in Signed & filed, plus back years, Categoria B, heavy crypto, and priority turnaround.

Ordering and payment

Placing an order on this site creates no payment obligation. We confirm your details by email before any work starts, and nothing is due until you approve the prepared return. If we cannot take your case on, we tell you and the order ends there.

Accountant signoff

Review and signoff by a contabilista certificado is included in the €149 and €300 packages. The €79 package is preparation only: you check it and file it yourself.

Not advice until engaged

The free assessment, the website, the blog, and our emails before an engagement are general information only, not legal or tax advice. Advice specific to your situation starts when you order a package and we confirm the engagement.

Your part

We prepare your return from the information you give us. You are responsible for that information being complete and accurate, and the return remains yours: you approve it before it is filed.

Limitation of liability

If we get something wrong, we fix it at no extra cost, including handling any follow-up with Financas (the Portuguese tax authority) on packages that include filing. Beyond that, our liability is capped at the amount you paid us for the engagement. We are not liable for tax owed: that was always yours to pay.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute belongs to the courts of Lisbon.
