What this site provides

Expatax publishes general information about Portuguese tax for people living in Portugal. The guides, checklists, blog posts and emails are educational information, not legal or personalised tax advice.

Filing Service status

Settled, the Expatax filing service, is in development for 2027. The Filing Service page explains the planned experience. It does not accept a filing, create an engagement or make a payment due.

If a service becomes available, its supported cases, price, reviewer, responsibilities and payment terms will be confirmed in writing before work begins.

Your decisions

Tax outcomes depend on your facts. Check current official guidance and obtain advice from a qualified professional before filing or making a decision with financial consequences.

Existing engagements

Any engagement already confirmed with Expatax continues under the terms agreed for that engagement. These website terms do not replace a separate written agreement.

Site availability

We work to keep the information current and the site available, but we cannot promise that every page will always be complete, current or uninterrupted. Official sources and applicable law take priority.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute belongs to the courts of Lisbon, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
